Keeping the Noise down for Ringway

added by Chris Bambridge on December 1, 2010 at 05:14

Continuing their long standing working relationship, the Ringway Group had approached EH Brown Fencing to help them with replacing some damaged noise reducing fencing on the A299 (Thanet Way) a heavily used section of road in Kent.

EH Brown Fencing were able to manufacture to specification 10m of 2.15m high Acoustic Barrier, supported by 2.8m long galvanised steel IPE posts.

Not only were EH Brown Fencing able to supply and erect the fencing but they were also able to arrange for a lane to be closed on this busy section of road, to ensure the safety of the installation team whilst completing the fencing.

Cooking with Gas for Mitie

added by Michael Latham on November 13, 2010 at 05:16

The Mitie Group have awarded EH Brown Fencing 4 contracts across Kent, Headcorn, West Kingsdown, Brenzett and Ulcombe to provide security fencing to Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) tanks located at school sites.

The schools use the LPG to cook their school dinners, as they are all located in very rural areas where obtaining access to mains gas is impossible. The security fencing to these sites ensures that these tanks remain safe and secure for years to come.

No Holiday in Blackpool for EH Brown Fencing

added by Chris Bambridge on October 31, 2010 at 05:06

A 4 week stay in Blackpool for EH Brown Fencing proved to be no holiday as 2 installation teams overcame tough working conditions and a troublesome site for Trant Construction at the Radar Station for Blackpool Airport.

The site is located on marshlands, that during our installation in October 2010 was particularly waterlogged. The specification of the fencing on the project included a trench that enabled the Mesh Panel System to be buried for additional security, the problem with this being that as soon as the trench was dug, it filled with water, meaning that it had to be pumped virtually continuously in order to be able to dig the post holes (which were also then immediately immersed in water).

A batch mixed concrete was then sourced and used on site to create 500mm x 500mm by 1m deep pad stones for the fence posts to sit on top of, ensuring that the weight of the fencing did not cause the entire fence to sink into the sodden ground.

Despite the on site challenges and the cruel October weather, the installation teams successfully erected over 200m of 3.2m high “Prison Mesh” fencing, including 2 pairs of gates which Trant Construction and their client Raytheon were very happy with.

Following on from the work recently completed at Stansted Airport's Radar Station, Trant Construction have awarded another contract to EH Brown Fencing Ltd, this time at Blackpool Airport Radar Station in Lancashire.

This is another endorsement of the good workmanship and quality materials supplied and erected at Stansted, as well as an indication of the manner in which the contract was fulfilled, on budget and on time.

We are very pleased to be able to carry on the good working relationship being built up with Trant Construction and look forward to another succesful contract at Blackpool Radar Station.

Hastings College, Ore Valley

added by Chris Bambridge on June 24, 2010 at 02:55

Two fencing projects have recently been completed for Laing O'Rourke at the new Hastings College site in the Ore Valley. A tight time frame for installation, along with numerous other trades working in the same area's at the same time, meant that site liason was critical on this project. Combine these issues with difficult terrain (the site was built on a multi level basis) and the usual pressures of Health and Safety on a large Construction Site and you have a fencer's worst nightmare!

Despite all of this, EH Brown Fencing Ltd managed to deliver a hard court games area rebound mesh panel system and a section of steel palisade fencing and gates not only to a high standard, but also on time whilst complying with all of the multitude of Health and Safety issues you would find on a large construction site. The new college is now starting to take shape nicely and we are rightly proud to have played our part in making Hastings College secure and pleasing to the eye.

The Way Forward..

added by Chris Bambridge on May 24, 2010 at 07:00

This much improved website gives the company far greater exposure and presence in the new and, as yet, untapped market of e-commerce and internet marketing, as well as providing the platform for showcasing the wide variety of fencing and gates now available in both the Commercial and Garden Fencing sectors.

Online is the way forward and EH Brown Fencing Ltd wants to be one of the first independent suppliers in the South East to offer a detailed and informative package for the internet browser / shopper.

Changing Times..

added by Mr E.H. Brown on May 24, 2010 at 06:30

During the fifty years I've been involved in the fencing trade, it has changed beyond recognition from those early days of three wire boundaries and a so called 'gossip screen'. More so during the last twenty years with a new prosperity nationwide and a property owning class. Consequent increase in crime, schools and specialised establishments becoming very vulnerable.

Not only has fencing become highly effective security wise, with many ingenious sophistications, it has also had to become in many cases environmentally acceptable. Local authorities are now very demanding with regard to the aesthetic and less obtrusive appearance of security fences. Colour is of prime importance and with very many varying and totally effective systems there is now a choice available which would be a worthwhile investment for an unlimited number of years, rust is indeed a thing of the past.

These various security systems are all available through EH Brown Fencing Ltd, together with industrial gates, both manual and power operated.
